Canadian Energy Independence Through Space-Based Solar Power

 The Government of Canada has outlined seven priorities for building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous country:

1. Establish a new economic and security relationship with the United States and strengthen collaboration with reliable global allies.
    
2. Build one Canadian economy by removing barriers to interprovincial trade and advancing nation-building projects that connect and transform the country.
    
3. Bring down costs for Canadians and help them get ahead.
    
4. Make housing more affordable through public-private cooperation, modernizing the housing industry, and creating skilled trades careers.
    
5. Protect Canadian sovereignty and keep Canadians safe by strengthening the Armed Forces, securing borders, and supporting law enforcement.
    
6. Attract the best talent in the world to build the economy, while keeping immigration rates sustainable.
    
7. Spend less on government operations so Canadians can invest more in people and businesses to grow the strongest economy in the G7.

China, Japan, the UK, and Europe are already developing SBSP

Canada must lead, or be left behind

We don’t need enormous government spending.

SBSP can be built by Canadian companies, but only if government creates the right conditions.

We’re calling for:

• Targeted tax incentives for firms spending on SBSP development
• Capital gains exemptions to attract private investment into the sector
• Canada to commit to buying SBSP energy from firms once they’re ready 
• A clear federal signal that SBSP is a national priority

These same incentives made possible the satellite and internet ages!

• Facilitate the passing of this bill
• Serve as the official national hub for SBSP development
• Lead awareness campaigns to engage the private sector
• Manage road-mapping and early implementation phases
